Joyful Celebration of Book Day at Chalidana Islamic School Gresik: Bringing Stories to Life Through Creative Presentations and Costumes
GRESIK – The classrooms of Chalidana Islamic School (CIS)
Gresik burst with color and excitement during the annual celebration of Book
Day. Designed to cultivate a lifelong love for reading from an early age,
this special event encourages young learners to build confidence in expressing
themselves and sharing stories with their peers and teachers. Combining
educational and creative concepts, students embarked on a literacy journey
featuring story presentations, book exhibitions, and adorable character
dress-ups.
The classroom atmosphere came alive as students eagerly took
the stage in colorful costumes matching their featured storybooks. The creative
showcase included little chefs in aprons and chef hats presenting "Guess
What I Like to Eat!", young farmers with yellow sun hats and prop
tools displaying "What Do You See On the Farm?", and charming
groups dressed in nature and animal-themed attire for stories like "Sam
the Cat".
Beyond dressing up, student groups guided by their teachers
actively presented their custom-made big storybooks on stage. Wearing colorful
paper crowns and themed headbands, the children took turns holding the
microphone, reading aloud, and presenting bright illustration boards. The warm
encouragement from teachers and enthusiastic cheers from classmates made the
entire learning experience vibrant and interactive.
Through Book Day, CIS Gresik reaffirms its commitment
to providing enjoyable and experiential learning environments. This event
successfully fosters early literacy habits while developing students' language
capabilities, public speaking skills, and creative self-expression.
